Length + type decide the structure. Symbol / separator is only used for grouped or word-based passwords.
ⓘ Notes & Info
Entropy thresholds
Entropy is a rough estimate based on character sets used:
< 28 Very Weak ·
28–35 Weak · 36–59 Good
· 60–127 Strong
· ≥ 128 Very Strong
Ambiguous characters
For character-based passwords (numbers / grouped A9b style),
ambiguous characters are excluded by design: digits
0, 1, letters i, I, l, L, o, O, and
symbols that are easily confused such as
{ } [ ] ( ) / \ ' " ` , . < > ^ *.
Word-based passphrases may still contain similar letters, but
remain easier to read because they are full words.
Privacy & security
Everything runs in your browser only. No passwords are sent to any server, stored in a database, or logged remotely. If you close the page, the generated passwords are gone.
Usage tips
- Use unique passwords for important accounts (email, banking,
ID).
- Consider a password manager to store long, random
passwords.
- For memorability, choose a word-based passphrase with a
clear separator (for example - or
@).
